I started running in 2010 when I signed up for my first half marathon. I've ran a race every year since! Getting outside, enjoying the fresh air and moving my body gives me so much energy. I have found that running isn't only good for my physical health, but beneficial for my mental health too. Getting mentally ready to run a race, talking myself through the miles and having the time to let my mind wander, gives my mind a workout too.
Admittedly, I didn't know what I was doing when I first started running. I made every rookie mistake during that first half marathon and had a sore body the next morning to prove it. Over the years I learned, through trial and error, the mechanics and skills to run smarter and really enjoy the sport.
I'm a teacher by nature so it was only a matter of time before I started teaching others what I'd learned. As a certified running coach, I know the science behind running and have the specialized skills to help any runner--beginner or experienced--run better, faster and healthier.
